At the heart of Woodvale Primary Academy’s curriculum is a belief that all children are able to achieve and that all children are entitled to an exceptional curriculum. A curriculum that is rooted in rich learning experiences that develop knowledge and skills, where connections are made between and within subjects and where each discipline is given equal status.
Our learners experience sit at the heart of our curriculum to ensure that everything offered is to support and prepare them for school, work and life. We recognise the value in providing a balance of thematic and discrete teaching, which meets the requirements of the Primary National Curriculum. This is delivered primarily through the Edison Connected Curriculum, Talk for Writing and Power Maths. In addition we have specialist teaching provision through Northampton Music and Performing Arts Trust and Premier Sports.
We recognise that this is just part of the full curriculum offer and ensure that our shared pedagogy develops our learners spiritually, morally, socially and culturally. We recognise the importance of embedding pupils personal development within all aspects of school life and provide a wide range of experiences for our pupils.
